NEW YORK — U.S. markets closed higher Friday with major indexes ending higher for the second week in a row. The third-quarter earnings season continued on Friday, with Goldman Sachs beating expectations on both the top and bottom lines. The positive earnings reports propelled the Dow to close above the 35,000 benchmark.
The Dow climbed 382.20 points to end at 35,294.76. The S&P 500 closed 33.11 points higher to finish at 4,471.37. The Nasdaq rose 73.91 points to end at 14,897.34.
