Downers Grove Man Charged with Aggravated Reckless Driving

CHICAGO – A Downers Grove man was arrested for his role in a high-speed crash that injured two of his passengers in the Brighton Park neighborhood.

According to Chicago police, on April 2, 2023, Ricardo Ortega-Flores, 19, of the 4800 block of Belmont Rd., Downers Grove, Illinois, allegedly crashed his vehicle in the 4200 block of S. Kedzie Ave.  It is further alleged that Ortega-Flores was driving at a high rate of speed and collided with another vehicle, seriously injuring two of his passengers, a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old male.

Ortega-Flores was arrested by members of the Chicago Police Department and the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force on April 20, 2023, in the 1700 block of S. State St. and has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated reckless driving causing bodily harm and two felony counts of leaving the scene of an accident that caused injury or death.
