Chicago Man Charged in November 2022 Roseland Carjacking

CHICAGO – A Chicago man has been charged in a carjacking that happened in the Roseland neighborhood back in November of 2022.

Chicago police said, on Nov 3, 2022, around 7:00 pm, Marquell Davis, 21, of the 5800 block of S. Michigan Ave, allegedly took a vehicle at gunpoint from a 43-year-old male in the 10000 block of S. Michigan Ave.  Davis has also been charged in connection with an attempted carjacking and armed robbery that occurred hours later on Nov 3 in the 3100 block of S. Michigan Ave.

Police said Davis was taken into custody by members of the Vehicular Hijacking Task Force on April 12, 2023, in the 2600 block of S. California.  Davis has been charged with one felony count of vehicular hijacking with a firearm, one felony count of attempted vehicular hijacking with a firearm, one felony count of robbery with a firearm, one felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a loaded weapon with no FOID card.
