ARLINGTON HEIGHTS – A pedestrian was hit by a Metra train Wednesday morning at a railroad crossing in Arlington Heights.
Authorities have asked people to avoid the railroad crossing at North Ridge Avenue and Northwest Highway.
Metra sent out an alert informing riders that inbound and outbound traffic on the Union Pacific Northwest Line is halted near Arlington Heights and that there is limited service between Des Plaines and Chicago.
