Bally’s Closes On $200 Million Casino Deal In River North

CHICAGO – Bally’s has closed the deal on its location for a casino in Chicago’s River West neighborhood.

Bally’s announced the purchase of the Freedom Center printing plant which is the current headquarters of local Chicago paper.

When completed, the  $1.74 billion casino is expected to generate $200 million in annual tax revenue for Chicago.  Bally’s expects to open the casino by 2026.

“This transaction is an important step in our development plan for Bally’s Chicago as we continue to work towards opening the temporary casino in mid-2023,” Bobby Lavan, Chief Financial Officer of Bally’s, said in a statement.
