AUSTIN, TX – Tesla to recall nearly 30,000 Model X vehicles in the United States over an issue that may cause the front passenger airbag to deploy incorrectly.

In a filing with US regulators, Tesla engineers confessed that the airbag could deploy incorrectly at low-speed collisions causing harm to unbelted front seat passengers.  As of yet, Tesla has not reported any crashes, injuries, or deaths related to the recall.

Tesla Model X owners can expect the problem to be solved through an over-the-air software update.
