NORTHBROOK, IL –  Suburban police throughout the Chicago metropolitan area have issued a warning to the public of a rash of pick-pocket thefts occurring at retail stores and restaurants.

The most recent pick-pocket thefts have occurred in Northbrook and appear to be targeting the elderly.  Police have also warned that the entire Chicago area has been seeing a rise in pick-pocket thefts.  Police said the suspects seen in Northbrook are described as Latin American.

“We want to remind residents to be aware of their surroundings at all times,” said Chief Christopher Kennedy. “As always, if you see something, say something.”

Northbrook police ask residents with information leading to an arrest to contact them at 847-564-2060.
