CHICAGO – An Illinois State trooper along with two civilians were injured after a daring high-speed chase through Chicago’s South Side overnight.

Illinois State Police said the trooper was in pursuit of a suspect’s car when both cars crashed separately around 12:00 am. The high-speed chase started at 79th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue and ended on 95th Street near Chicago State University in Burnside.

According to investigators, the trooper lost control of his squad car due to wet road conditions and hit a tree while the civilian car hit a light pole.  All three were taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
