Man Arrested For Loaded Weapon At CTA Station

CHICAGO — A Chicago man was arrested for carrying a loaded firearm at a CTA Red Line station on the Near North Side.

According to Chicago police, Jonathan Jimenez-Alcanta, 21, was arrested early Saturday after CTA passengers reported to police that he was holding a firearm as he loitered in the stairwell of a Chicago Red Line station.

Jimenez-Alcanta has been charged with unlawful use of a loaded weapon without a FOID card and aggravated battery of a laser device on a firearm.
