CHICAGO — Two Chicago men have been charged after allegedly carjacking a rideshare driver by gunpoint on Chicago’s North Side.
On Friday, Hansen Dandridge Jr., 18, was charged with one felony count of stealing a vehicle and one felony count of possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, along with other charges.
Cormarion Watkins, 18, was charged with one felony count of vehicular hijacking with a firearm.
According to police, the carjacking occurred in the 1400 block of West Foster around 12:35 am Friday when the suspects pointed a gun at the head of a 65-year-old rideshare driver. After stealing the vehicle, the suspects crashed into a fire hydrant as they fled the scene.
The suspects were later arrested and charged.
