CHICAGO – A 19-year-old man has been charged in the brutal shooting of Dakotah Earley.
According to police, Tyshon Brownlee, of Oak Park, has been charged in the shooting of Earley and other robberies in the neighborhood. Brownlee has been charged with four counts of armed robbery with a firearm, armed robbery with the discharge of a firearm, and attempted first-degree murder.
On the morning of May 6, Earley was robbed at gunpoint in the 1300 block of West Webster Avenue. Police reports indicate that Earley was shot in the back twice and once in the neck. Earley was rushed to a nearby hospital and remains there with a bullet lodged in his jaw and major blood vessel damage.
According to Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan, Brownlee was identified from surveillance footage and was arrested Sunday in the 800 block of South Maple Avenue in Oak Park.
