CHICAGO – A drug dealer was murdered in Marquette Park after sparring with another drug dealer over where to peddle drugs.

According to Chicago police, Devonta Anderson, 30, was shot to death on December 20 after arguing over turf on South California Avenue.  Investigators claim Anderson was warned by other drug dealers several days before the murder, that he was not allowed to sell in the 6300 block of South California Avenue.

In a police report, Reginald McCune was captured on camera approaching Anderson from across the street.  As Anderson fled, McCune took aim and gunned down Anderson in cold blood.  McCune then fled into an apartment building.

According to CPD, Anderson was discovered with a fatal bullet hole in the back outside a nearby store.  Investigators discovered two .45-caliber shell casings at the location where McCune fired at Anderson.  McCune was later identified by witnesses from inside the store.

McCune was ordered held without bail and is expected back in court Jan. 25.
