OKLAHOMA CITY – Hobby Lobby has announced that its minimum full-time hourly wage would be raised to $18.50 on January 1, 2022.
Hobby Lobby announced the change on Tuesday, saying that it was one of the first stores to raise its minimum pay to $15 in 2014, “long before it became a trend with other retailers.”
“We have a long history of taking care of our employees. We took the choice in 1998 to close our stores on Sundays and at 8:00 p.m. the rest of the week to provide staff time for relaxation, family, and worship. We are thankful for our company’s success and happy to begin the new year by sharing that accomplishment with thousands of our workers.” founder and CEO David Green said in a statement.
