CHICAGO — Special Prosecutor Dan Webb rested his case after Osundairo finished testifying around 5:30 p.m. and the jury took a brief dinner break.

The defense called three witnesses to testify Thursday evening: Smollett’s music manager, Brandon Moore, a Northwestern Memorial Hospital physician who treated Smollett the night of the alleged attack, and Smollett’s publicist, Pamela Sharp.

Smollett is accused of lying to police on six counts of felony disorderly conduct.

The legal team for the former ‘Empire’ star maintains that he was the victim of a real attack.

On Thursday, the defense also filed a motion for a directed finding, essentially asking the judge to acquit Smollett due to a lack of evidence.

This request was denied by the judge.

The jury has been instructed to return to the Leighton Criminal Courthouse on Monday, December 5, at 9:15 a.m.
