LISLE, IL — Brendan Wydajewski, 22, of Naperville was allegedly drunk and driving faster than 120 mph when he crashed into a car last month, killing three people.
On the morning of October 30, Lisle police responded to a multiple-vehicle incident at Warrenville Road and Navistar Drive. Officers arrived on the scene and discovered two automobiles, one of which had been chopped in half.
Andrew Purtill, 46, the first vehicle’s driver, was pronounced dead on scene. Passengers Geovanny Alvarez, 22, and Graciela Leonos, 21, died as a result of their injuries.
Brendan Wydajewski, 22, the driver of the second vehicle, was taken to the hospital after the accident. Wydajewski was released from the hospital on Sunday and is facing aggravated DUI resulting in death and unauthorized possession of a firearm charges.
A $500,000 bond has been set for Wydajewski, who is expected back in court on January 11.
