MIAMI — On Saturday, a man hid inside the wheel-bay of an American Airlines flight 1182 from Guatemala to Miami.
According to a spokesperson for US Customs and Border Protection, a 26-year-old man was apprehended after hiding in the airplane’s wheel-bay.
“A 26-year-old man was apprehended by US Customs and Border Protection officers at Miami International Airport Saturday morning after attempting to evade detection in the landing gear compartment of an aircraft arriving from Guatemala,” the spokesperson said.
According to authorities, the man was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and the incident is still under investigation.
