SPRINGFIELD, IL — Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White aims to crack down on the misuse of disabled parking placards at shopping malls over the holiday season.
Parking lot stings will target drivers who abuse placard use, as well as those who park in an accessible space without a disability placard or license plate.
Offenders could face a six-month license suspension and a $600 fine.
According to Jesse White’s office, the stings will begin on Black Friday at Woodfield Mall and then throughout the state in the coming weeks.
