Man 25 Shot While Entering His East Garfield Park Home

CHICAGO — Early Sunday, a man was shot while attempting to enter his East Garfield Park home  in the 3000 block of West Jackson.

According to Chicago police, a 25-year-old man was sitting on the front steps of his home shortly after midnight when he noticed a male suspect walking toward him.  When the victim attempted to enter his home, the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot at him before fleeing the scene.

The man had been shot in the arm and was taken to the hospital in fair condition.
