CHICAGO — A Chicago police officer was shot multiple times in South Shore on Friday night.
According to CPD dispatch, officers responded to shots fired in the 7200 block of South Jeffrey at about 10:51 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man on the ground and tried to investigate when shots were fired in their direction. Investigators are looking into if this was an ambush.
An unknown suspect shot a female officer multiple times. The wounded officer’s partner then drove her to an area hospital. Both officers did not fire their weapons in return.
The officer who was injured is listed in stable condition.
