ROYAL OAK, MI — Jim Breuer, a “Saturday Night Live” alum, announced on Facebook that he will not perform at the Royal Oak Music Theatre on Oct. 1 due to the venue’s COVID-19 vaccination proof policy.
Breuer stated in a video posted on September 10 that he would not be performing at the Metro Detroit venue “because of their segregation, forcing people to show up with vaccinations, to prove you have been vaccinated, to prove you have had a shot I am not going to do those shows.”
Breuer added, “I am aware that I will have to make significant financial sacrifices. But I will not be enslaved by the system or by money, and neither should anyone else who wishes to laugh or be entertained.”
