WASHINGTON — President Biden was caught checking his watch during a solemn ceremony at Dover AFB honoring the 13 US troops killed in a terror attack near Kabul’s airport.
As the flag-draped coffins were carried off the Air Force C-17 Globemaster plane, he placed his right hand to his chest. However, at one point, the president appeared to cast a quick glance at his watch before putting his arms behind his back, eliciting criticism from veterans, government officials, and the media.
The 13 troops killed in Kabul were assisting with the evacuation of Americans and Afghans following the country’s sudden fall from power. Eleven Marines, one Navy corpsman, and one Army soldier were killed.
