CHICAGO — On Friday night, a vehicle dragged a Chicago police officer on the city’s South Side on West 63rd Street. At around 7:30 p.m., officers were conducting a traffic stop when the driver of an Impala reversed his car and dragged an officer, pinning him between the offender’s vehicle and a viaduct, according to police.
During the incident, the officer discharged his firearm, resulting in police shots being fired. No one was hit by gunfire. According to CPD, the suspect fled the scene and is not currently in custody. The officer was taken to the hospital in good health.
