WHEATON — A bond has been set for a Chicago man accused of making a threatening phone call to Candice Adams’ office, Clerk of the DuPage County Circuit Court.
Bernard Williams, 42, has been charged with threatening a public official and harassing a state employee over the phone. Prosecutors say Williams called the DuPage County Clerk of the Circuit Court’s office at 3 p.m. on Thursday and informed a representative that he would come to the office and shoot everyone who worked there. In addition, Williams allegedly threatened to “shoot the Clerk in the head.”
Williams was apprehended shortly after 10 a.m. Friday in a courtroom in the courthouse. Williams’ bond has been set at $1 million.
