MARION, IL — Authorities are looking into the discovery of skeletal remains at a wildlife refuge in southern Illinois. With the help of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Illinois State Police, and the county coroner, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation. The remains were discovered at Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge on Thursday. Hardwood and pine forests, croplands, grasslands, rolling hills, and several lakes make up the roughly 44,000-acre refuge.
