CHICAGO — While dispersing An unruly mob on the West Side, a Chicago police commander and a sergeant were shot and wounded early Monday. According to CPD, around 1:30 a.m., someone on foot fired at the crowd in the 100 block of North Long Avenue. The commander was wounded in the foot and the sergeant was injured in the leg. Both officers were sent to Stroger Hospital in Chicago. The shooter has yet to be identified. According to CPD, 33 officers had been wounded by gunfire this year.
